Before PMB came into power, crude oil contributed 85% to our National revenue, but this month 70% of N559.03 Billion shared by the Federation came from Non-oil revenue source, some thing that has never happened for a long time.
PMB as re organize FRIS, and over 700, 000 new cooperate account have been added to their database, and their target is to register at least 10 Million additional tax payers by December 2016. If these is accomplished the revenue generated this month from Non-oil sources will double and be sufficient to fund 2016 budget with less contribution from crude revenue.
This will make our country financially independent from Oil and will also encourage our government to work harder and get more. Our previous government was lazy to explore these option.
Some other countries run on Taxes and indeed PMB is bringing the change. The future is bright and we foresee a Nigeria that will fund budget with zero contribution from Oil in the nearest future.
