The Big Issue is that churches that are characterized under Non- Profit Organizations receive free offering from worshipers as mandated by God and used offerings to build educational facilities, and other ventures which are not beneficial to the needs of the poor who gave the offering our of their free will.
The poor pay tithes, offerings and endowments, they are coerced to sow all sorts of seeds like giving up of their lands, houses, cars and other valuables to the benefit of the church.
The church take those monies, build schools and bill the poor out of benefit. Those schools can only be attended by the children of the rich, ln fact, none church goers and their UKs.
Kudos to JIM OBAZEE, the CEO of Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria (FRCN) for such a landmark public gesture of structuring the tenure of religious leaders in Nigeria.
None of them spoke to the government on behalf of the poor masses during the recession of 2016. They never felt recession. With this new demarcatum of power, may be, they will start to be conscious of the problems of the masses.
