The result is intolerance, colossal violence, butcher of hundreds of brothers and kinsmen and destruction of economy for no other reason than difference in sectarian beliefs and ideologies.
But these ethnicity were accommodating of one another and lived in relative peace with their neighbours before the 80s. Religious ideologies that preach violence and blood letting were allien to these people.
But things have change for the worst within a period of 40 years. Maitatsine, Kaduna, Kano and Plateau riots and crises, and Boko Haram of recent have devastated these groups, brought excruciating misery upon it and dragged it years back.
It is so unfortunate that these two group are yet to come to terms with reality and embrace tolerance that's Sine qua non for peaceful coexistence, development and prosperity.
Hate of others who profess different faith and creed is at all time high, sectarian violence is on the rise and blood of human beings continue to flow in streets while sacred lives are being wasted.
Will they ever learn, mend their ways and embrace themselves as brothers and live in relative harmony with other Nigerians that hold different religions beliefs?
