After studying the report of our Political Committee on the just concluded 2016 Sept. gubernatorial election in Edo State, it gives us joy to congratulate our brother sisters, friends, fathers and mothers in Edo State for a successful and credible 2016 gubernatorial election.
We applaud the massive turnout of the people of the state and their peaceful and orderly conduct throughout the exercise. We also congratulates them for being vigilant in ensuring that their votes manifest in the public count and in the announcement of results at the polling units.
We commend Inec for its unbiasedness and professionalism and also commend the security agencies for their neutrality and strict observance of the provisions of the Electoral Act by its adequate deployment of unarmed security personnel to the polling units and for their courteous conduct at strategic road blocks meant to curb unnecessary movement of persons during the election which signposted its readiness to combat any security challenge.
We also commend the Local and International observers for a job well done as well as the media for their critical roles in engendering democracy by their professional conduct throughout the exercise.
Once again, we Congratulate the people of Edo State and we pray and hope that their wishes will manifest in the governance of their incoming elected governor.
