The youth form 75% of the total population of Nigeria. Who are those called employable? Who constitute the workforce of a nation? Who is recruited into the armed forces? Who plays in the national team(s)? Who represents Nigeria in the Olympics?
It is not about the energy and youth population alone but in the quality of the thinking and the capacity to channel that energy productively. Like the phenomena explained by the principle of elastic limit and yield point in physics.
When a nation grows to her elastic yield point, her saving grace will be how prepared the youth of such a nation is - to face and fix the issues of nation building in moving forward, no matter how bad its state, to make it better.
Our nation Nigeria is at that point where the youth need to re invent the new Nigeria for the generations to come. That is the place of the youth in nation building.
Nevertheless every now and then the youth are said to be leaders of tomorrow, that future is never the Role of the youths in Nation Building but the role of the Leaders in preparing the YOUTH POSITIVELY for the FUTURE Task.
