The seed of crisis rocking APC in Ondo State was sown prior to the Primary Election. This problem is the direct aftermath of the last State Congress to fill the various party positions as stated by one of the Gubernatorial Candidate in Ondo State.
The desperate ambition of some if the Leaders further deepened the degree of curriousity among the aspirants. There us no gain saying that the party has fallen into a protracted crisis, a situation that will no doubt erode the gains they have made as a party and ultimately hand the advantage to the ruling PDP in the coming election.
The party needs genuine reconciliation. And thus can't be achieved through a mere rubber stamp of the controversial primary election. Since the disputed result of the primary election is upheld.
The aggrieved aspirants may resort to undermining the candidate and thereby subverting the party. PMB should urgently lntervene in the crisis and pacify all those that are aggrieved and also urge all aspirants to reach a consensus on the way forward.
Whatever consensus is reached shoukd be binding in all the aspirants and they must all agree to support that decision. The top leaders need to be less inflexible and be more humble. what they need now is an attitude of extreme self- sacrifice and self abnegation.
Those concerned should also be ready to sincerely apologise for disrespecting some of their top leaders, in the build up to the disputed primary. One thing is clear, the primary has been discredited in the Phyche of the ordinary Ondo State Voter, given the barrage of evidences of malpractice and compromise.
Therefore, the winner woukd be perceived more or less a product of a dubious exercise by the electorate.
This they must watch in the communication strategy of Gov Mimiko.
